About the job You translate strategic priorities, value pools, capability gaps and business development opportunities into focused acquisition themes. From market mapping and target origination to qualification and business case validation, you create transparency and structure throughout the front end of the acquisition process. Job responsibilities Develop and maintain evidence-based acquisition themes, including strategic rationale, scope, target profiles, screening criteria and preliminary value creation logic. Build structured market maps and target universes, then identify and prioritize companies based on strategic fit, market position, ownership and economic attractiveness. Create proactive deal flow through company and owner outreach, industry networks, advisors, investors and internal stakeholders. Assess targets, identify risks and dependencies, and recommend whether opportunities should progress, be held or rejected. Lead the development and validation of strategic business cases together with intended business owners and relevant functional experts. Improve origination methods, assessment criteria, decision gates and pipeline governance using analytics, AI, external intelligence and learning from previous opportunities.
