We're looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to help build what comes next. About the role This isn't a typical iOS role. SCRL is a tool people use to create, not just consume. That means you'll be working on things most apps never touch: real-time image and video manipulation, complex multi-touch interactions, advanced layout systems, and performance-sensitive rendering pipelines. You'll work across the full depth of the app, from pixel-level rendering to fluid, responsive UI that feels effortless to use. The problems are hard, the users are demanding, and the bar for quality is high. What you will do Core Product Engineering Build and evolve SCRL's editing engine, working on image processing, video rendering, and real-time visual effects. Design and implement complex interaction models: multi-touch gestures, precise object manipulation, drag, resize, snap, and transform. Solve hard problems in coordinate geometry, layout systems, and state management. Push performance to its limits, optimising rendering, memory usage, and responsiveness across a wide range of devices. Quality & Craft Own features end to end, from planning through to delivery. Write code that is fast, correct, and maintainable. Sweat the details that make the difference between a good tool and a great one. Work closely with design to get interactions, animations, and transitions feeling exactly right. Collaboration & Growth Contribute to architecture decisions and help shape the technical direction of the iOS codebase. Participate in code reviews, planning sessions, and technical discussions. Share knowledge and help raise the bar across the engineering team. Stay sharp on the latest in the iOS ecosystem and bring ideas back to the team.
